Knee replacement cost in India, as published by hospitals and medical travel platforms, runs from ₹1.3 lakh to ₹6 lakh for a single knee on hospital price pages, and from USD 2,171 to USD 15,000 for international patients on platform pages. Neither end of those ranges tells you what your case will cost — they tell you what the market publishes.

What hospitals publish in rupees
These are figures from the hospitals' own cost pages. They disagree because they measure different procedures and inclusions — read the procedure column before comparing rows.
| Hospital | Procedure | Published range |
|---|---|---|
| PACE Hospitals | Partial knee replacement | ₹1.5 lakh to ₹3 lakh |
| PACE Hospitals | Total knee replacement (one knee) | ₹2.5 lakh to ₹5 lakh |
| PACE Hospitals | Bilateral (both knees) | ₹4 lakh to ₹9 lakh |
| Yashoda Hospitals | Total knee replacement (one knee) | ₹1.5 lakh to ₹2.54 lakh |
| Germanten Hospitals | Total knee replacement (one knee) | ₹1.3 lakh to ₹5 lakh |
| CARE Hospitals | Knee replacement (general range) | ₹1.5 lakh to ₹5.5 lakh |
Robotic and revision procedures sit above these bands: PACE publishes robotic replacement at ₹3.5 lakh to ₹6.5 lakh and revision at ₹3 lakh to ₹8 lakh.
What platforms quote in US dollars
Platforms quote international patients in USD. The spread is wider than the hospital table because platform ranges cross hospitals, cities and package definitions.

| Vaidam | USD 2,171 to USD 4,625 | Hyderabad hospitals, platform range |
| MediGence | USD 3,000 to USD 15,000 (average USD 4,500 to 5,500) | Total knee, unilateral, Hyderabad |

| Afya India | USD 4,000 to USD 8,000 | Total knee, international patients |
| Germanten Hospitals | From USD 3,500 (USD 6,000 both knees) | Stated for foreign patients |

Country context
| Country | Published figure | Source |
|---|---|---|
| India | About USD 6,200 average | Karetrip / MediGence |
| Thailand | About USD 12,300 | Karetrip |
| United States | USD 35,000 to 50,000 | Karetrip / Afya India |
Lower cost does not by itself say anything about quality — accreditation, surgeon volume and the assessment of your own case matter more than a country average.
What moves the number
- The implant. The largest single variable; the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority has capped knee implant prices in India since 2017, but the cap covers implants only, not stay, surgeon fees or rehabilitation.
- The procedure. Partial costs less than total; revision and robotic procedures cost more; bilateral roughly doubles implant and theatre time.
- Room, stay and recovery. Room category, extra days, complications and physiotherapy change totals more than families expect before admission.
- The package definition. A floor price usually assumes a standard implant, a shared room and an uncomplicated stay.
The full breakdown of what each line item means sits in the Hyderabad cost guide.
How to use these figures
- 1Treat every number here as a market reference with a date, not a quote.
- 2Compare like with like: same procedure, same inclusions, same city.
- 3Ask for a written hospital estimate for your case before booking anything, and check what it includes, excludes, who issued it and when.
- 4Budget the whole trip — flights, visas, accommodation, attendant, medicines and follow-up at home — separately from the procedure.
Where IndiaBridge Health fits
We are an independent coordination service in Hyderabad. After a hospital reviews your case, we relay the hospital's own estimate and identify it as the hospital's. Hospital charges and any coordination fee are explained separately before you commit. Clinical decisions stay with the treating orthopaedic team.
Start with a question on our knee replacement page. Reports come later, if you decide a hospital review is useful.
