Knee replacement in Hyderabad is published at roughly ₹1.3 lakh to ₹6 lakh for a single knee. International patient packages published by Hyderabad hospitals start near USD 3,500. The final number depends on the procedure type, the implant, the room and the length of stay.
Published knee replacement prices in Hyderabad
Four Hyderabad hospital groups publish their own ranges. They disagree because they measure different things: some quote a base package, some quote a realistic all-in range, and some separate the implant from the procedure.
| Source | Procedure | Published range |
|---|---|---|
| PACE Hospitals | Partial knee replacement | ₹1.5 lakh to ₹3 lakh |
| PACE Hospitals | Total knee replacement (one knee) | ₹2.5 lakh to ₹5 lakh |
| PACE Hospitals | Bilateral (both knees) | ₹4 lakh to ₹9 lakh |
| Yashoda Hospitals | Total knee replacement (one knee) | ₹1.5 lakh to ₹2.54 lakh |
| Yashoda Hospitals | Partial knee replacement | ₹1.5 lakh to ₹2.03 lakh |
| Germanten Hospitals | Total knee replacement (one knee) | ₹1.3 lakh to ₹5 lakh |
| CARE Hospitals | Knee replacement (general range) | ₹1.5 lakh to ₹5.5 lakh |
Robotic-assisted and revision procedures sit above these bands. PACE publishes robotic knee replacement at ₹3.5 lakh to ₹6.5 lakh, and revision surgery at ₹3 lakh to ₹8 lakh.
What international patients pay
Hospitals and medical travel platforms quote international patients in US dollars. The spread is wide because the packages differ in what they cover.
| Provider | Published figure | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Germanten Hospitals (Hyderabad) | From USD 3,500 one knee, USD 6,000 both | Stated for foreign patients |
| Vaidam (Hyderabad) | USD 2,171 to USD 4,625 | Platform range across Hyderabad hospitals |
| MediGence (Hyderabad) | USD 4,500 to USD 5,500 | Total knee replacement, unilateral |
| Max Healthcare (India) | From USD 4,800 | Unilateral total knee replacement |
| Afya India (India) | USD 4,000 to USD 8,000 | Total knee, international patients |
Read these as starting points. A published floor price usually assumes a standard implant, a shared or twin room and an uncomplicated stay.
What actually moves the price
- The implant. Yashoda publishes an implant breakdown: a cobalt-chromium femoral component at ₹55,000 to ₹75,000, an oxidised zirconium option at ₹75,000 to ₹90,000, and polyethylene inserts at ₹30,000 to ₹55,000. Implant choice is a clinical conversation, and it is also the largest variable in the bill.
- The procedure type. A partial replacement costs less than a total, and a revision costs more than a first procedure. Bilateral surgery doubles implant and theatre time.
- Room category and stay. A private room and extra days change the total more than most families expect before admission.
- Robotics and technology. Robotic assistance adds cost and applies only where the surgical team judges it suitable.
- Complications or delayed recovery. Extra ICU days, new findings during admission and longer physiotherapy all add to the final bill.
The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority has capped knee implant prices in India since 2017, which is one reason Indian totals sit well below Western figures. Capping applies to implants, not to hospital stay, surgeon fees or rehabilitation.
What a written estimate should contain
Ask for the estimate in writing before you book travel, and check five lines on the document.
- 1Who issued it: the hospital itself, a department, or an agent quoting on the hospital's behalf.
- 2What it covers: procedure, implant, room, investigations, medicines, physiotherapy, follow-up visits.
- 3What it excludes: attendant stay, extended ICU, additional tests, hotel or transport.
- 4The date it was issued and how long the figures hold.
- 5What would change it: a different procedure, longer stay or a change in the implant recommended after review.

We are an independent coordination service in Hyderabad. After a hospital reviews your case, we relay its estimate and label it clearly as the hospital's estimate. Hospital charges and any coordination fee are explained separately. Clinical decisions, including whether knee replacement is appropriate for you, stay with the orthopaedic team.
Start with a question on our knee replacement page or send a WhatsApp message. Reports come later, if you decide a hospital review is useful.
